Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Completes Rounds Seven and Eight in Utah

Pro Truck Driver Rodrigo Ampudia

For the first time in series history, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series was off to the races in Utah. Rounds seven and eight of the 2010 season were held June 26-27 and the LeDuc family was once again out for points.

Taking over Miller Motorsports Park, the LOORS crew and competitors were in for a real treat during round seven for the Pro 2 Unlimited class. Todd LeDuc finished a shade over one second behind race winner Rodrigo Ampudia to take the second place on the podium.

Ampudia, who was unable to pull through for a weekend sweep, bicycled his truck on the last lap in round seven and ended sixth in round eight.

In the Pro 4 Unlimited class, the LeDuc family had a tough time on Saturday. Rick Huseman, Rob MacCachren, and Travis Coyne completed the one-two-three in round seven, while Kyle and Curt LeDuc finished 10th and 11th, respectively. Fortune made a turn for the better on Sunday, with Kyle and Curt coming in second and fourth, once again, behind Huseman. The gap between Huseman and Kyle LeDuc at the finish was a scant 0.154 second and the pair was nearly 15 seconds ahead of the third-place MacCachren.

Over at the Pro Lite Unlimited races, it was Chris Brandt and Marty Hart coming up big in the two rounds. Hart placed second on Saturday and took the top spot on Sunday.

The next rounds of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series will be local to Truck Trend at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California. The Southern California venue will be held August 7-8.
